I went back into my past and started dissecting times when my self esteem first started getting bad. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I was young. Too young. I was raised by a (wonderfully loving and caring) grandmother who was herself raised in a time when &amp;#8216;pinch an inch&amp;#8217; was considered fat. She instilled that in me early, keeping a close eye on what I ate and telling me I couldn&amp;#8217;t have seconds because there were too many calories and or fat in whatever I wanted. She paraded me in beauty pageants and in the next moment was trying to perm my hair and change who I was because I didn&amp;#8217;t readily fit that mold of perfection that she thought I should. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I moved out of my grandparents house and back in with my (very free, open, not restrictive) mother when I was 13 and my whole view on life changed. Not just with food, but everything I did was done &amp;#8216;because I could&amp;#8217;. Because I can, became my new mantra. I had all the food I could eat, I started skipping going for walks and exercising, because I could. I was no longer under that ever scrutinizing watch of my grandmother and I went crazy. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I, of course, started gaining weight and a few years later, after I&amp;#8217;d graduated high school, I moved back down to my grandmothers neck of the woods and was harshly critisized by not only her, but neighbors and friends. I drowned my sorrows in food, because I could. I&amp;#8217;m that hard headed that to get back at them for making me feel fat, I ate. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m not putting blame for my weight on anyone, but myself. I ate everything I did and I settled into a lazy life. I&amp;#8217;m just analyzing my past and some pretty deep hurts and feelings and trying to find out why I continuously sabotage myself. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Because I can. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I almost feel like if I lose weight and get in shape, they win. &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Upright Row Step I&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Primary muscles worked: shoulders, upper back, biceps.&lt;br/&gt;Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart with the weights hanging down in front of your body, their ends touching.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Upright Row Step II&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Raise your upper arms, leading with your elbows while bringing the weights up the front of your body as if you were tracing an imaginary midpoint, stopping when your elbows become level with your shoulders. Lower the weights back to the starting position.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;tip:&lt;/strong&gt; Keep your chin up and your belly button tucked in.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chest Press on Ball Step I&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Primary muscles worked: chest, front of shoulders, triceps. Sit on a ball and walk out so that your head and shoulder blades are resting on the ball. Lift your hips by contracting your glute muscles to make a bridge. (Your feet should be shoulder-width apart and below your knees to give you stable support.)&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chest Press on Ball Step II &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Bring the dumbbells to your shoulders. Then extend your arms over your chest and bring the dumbbells together to make a triangle over your chest. Lower the weights back to the starting position and repeat. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;tip:&lt;/strong&gt; You will need to engage your core throughout the exercise to avoid falling off the ball.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Overhead Press on Ball Step I&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Primary muscles worked: shoulders, upper back, triceps. Sit on an exercise ball with your belly button pulled toward the spine. Hold the weights in front of your shoulders, your palms facing in.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Overhead Press on Ball Step II&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Push the weights up until your arms are extended. When your arms are extended, they should be slightly in front of you rather than directly overhead. Lower the weights to the starting position and repeat.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;tip:&lt;/strong&gt; Keep your chin lifted slightly and your core stable.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;from &lt;a href="http://www.glamour.com/health-fitness/2010/07/workouts-how-to-get-sexy-toned-arms-in-six-weeks#slide=1" target="_blank"&gt;this website&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
